Real Madrid Regret not Deal with Luis Suarez

Real Madrid are beginning to seriously regret not signing Luis Suarez when they might have had the chance last summer, with the Uruguayan beginning to produce the sort of exemplary form he became infamous for at Liverpool. Buy FIFA 15 Coins Service on UTfifa15coins.com.

That’s the claim coming from Spanish newspaper El Economista, who use the opinion of ex-Mundo Deportivo editor and journalist Eduardo Inda to back up their theory that Los Blancos are now being made to rue what might have been.

REAL REGRET

The outlet plays heavily on the idea that Real backed out of signing Suarez after his actions at last summer’s World Cup, leaving Barcelona essentially alone in the race to take him from Liverpool. Despite his heroic feats for Liverpool that resulted in him bagging 31 Premier League goals last term the 28-year-old tarnished his reputation almost beyond repair with a bite on Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini in the final group game, and as such Real dropped their interest.

That decision looked to have been perfectly vindicated when he was slapped with a four month footballing ban, but their arch-rivals at the Nou Camp went ahead and paid £75 million for his signature anyway. As it happened Suarez’s La Liga debut came against Real, but that fixture only served to precede a rough patch for form as he struggled to live up to his billing.

SUAREZ ON FORM

Now though the feisty forward has shaken off the cobwebs and formed a devastating trio with Neymar and Lionel Messi, and his upturn in fortunes has coincided with Barcelona rising back to the top of La Liga. At the weekend the Catalans went one point ahead of Real, prompting speculation that trouble is now brewing at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Whilst it’s probably early to make that assessment seen as though Carlo Ancelotti’s men are still in with a shot at completing a European and domestic double, one has to wonder if they’ll make adjustments to their attacking line come the end of the season.

LOS BLANCOS CHANGES

The triumvirate of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo kicked off the campaign in supreme fashion but have faltered of late, and rumours persist in claiming one or both of the first two might be given the boot.

If they are then Real will turn their attentions to landing another Galactico striker, but it’s extremely unlikely they’ll find one with the proven quality that Suarez boasts. He may not be the most well mannered of players, but he certainly makes an impact.
